Earlier this year, Japanese artist Mami Tomioka exhibited her work in the Morrison Gallery as a charity event called “Breeze from Heaven” for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Sales of her artwork and donations to the cause left her with more than $470, with which to purchase local products to be sold to raise more money in support of the fisherman in Kesennuma-Oshima in Miyagi-prefecture, an area devastated by the tsunami. Ms. Tomioka would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity.
